Admission into our Order

Qualifications & Age

The basic academic qualification for admission into the institute is the O'Level Senior School Certificate or its equivalent. Those with NCE, Bachelor's, Master's and Doctorate degrees are also accepted. Prospective candidates should fall within the age limit of 18 and 25 years.

Personal Qualities

Prospective candidates should have the necessary of good health, be of good moral conduct, mature and responsible. They must show signs of sound knowledge of the doctrines of the Catholic Church. They should be docile, humble and hardworking and have the pastoral spirit of giving themselves completely to God in the service of the poor, the needy, the sick, and neglected. They shall have the missionary spirit of being ready and willing to sacrifice themselves and be available to be sent where there is need in the Spirit of the Institute.

Stages Of Formation

Aspirancy: This is the initial stage of expression of a desire to join the Institute. A period of orientation ranging from six months or more is undergone for the initial introduction into the life of the Institute.

Postulancy: This is the first stage of the formation process and it lasts for one year or more, but not more than two years. It is a period of introduction to religious life in the Institute and discernment of vocation.

Novitiate: This is the last stage of the initial formation. It lasts for two years. It is a period of intensive preparation for religious life in the Institute. The candidates are helped to develop both human and Christian virtues through prayer, study and reflection. They are formed to respond and face the challenges of religious life in the contemporary world.

Temporary Profession: At the end of the novitiate, the Superior General admits successful candidates to temporary profession of the evangelical counsels. The period of temporary profession lasts for six years or more, but not more than nine years.

Final Profession: Members who have made temporary profession are admitted to final profession after having proved that they fully understand this way of life, and are ready to be committed to it perpetually.
